Match the rental to the working site
A home addition, a multi-trade remodel and a commercial build do not use a restroom in the same way. Share the number of workers on the busiest shift, whether other toilets remain available and the expected project duration. Ask for the service plan to reflect actual use rather than only the first week’s headcount.
Use California’s construction requirements
California §1526 starts with one separate toilet facility per 20 employees, or fraction, of each sex. It includes specific provisions for single-user all-gender facilities; where fewer than five employees are present, one designated all-gender single-user facility is sufficient. Cleanliness, privacy and toilet paper are also required. The site supervisor should review the full rule for the actual workforce.

Plan washing facilities as well. California §1527 contains the separate washing requirements. A toilet order by itself does not establish that the whole site meets every sanitation obligation.
Placement for an active Berkeley build
Identify the construction entrance, not only the mailing address. If the job is behind an occupied house, explain the gate, stairs and rear access. For hillside work, agree on a level position that remains usable during excavation. For a street-facing site, check whether the proposed position affects public space.

Understand recurring billing and removal
A 28-day cycle is four weeks, not a calendar month. Confirm the first-cycle amount, later recurring amount, included visits and any pickup charge. Ask when the first routine service occurs after delivery and how extra pumping or restocking is requested.
When the project finishes, contact the provider to request removal and confirm when billing stops. A crew leaving the site does not automatically notify dispatch. Keep gates accessible until collection has been completed.
